Chauncey Bailey Project

G.W. Schulz

G.W. Schulz is a reporter for the San Francisco Bay Guardian. In 2007, he won the Public Service award from the Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists for his series on the machinations behind the sales of the major newspapers in the Bay Area and the consolidation of ownership.

A native of Tulsa, Okla., Schulz worked for the city’s alternative weekly, Urban Tulsa, after graduating from the University of Kansas. He called the confluence of journalists and their strong commitment to the Chauncey Bailey Project — across organizations — “a unique and significant experience.”
